Qatar Airways: business class from the US West Coast to Southeast Asia from about 95,000 Avios

Qatar Avios give the West Coast four ways into Southeast Asia. Qatar's own flights via Doha have been booked at 95,000 one way to Singapore and Bangkok, and 100,000 to Bali. Philippine Airlines flies nonstop to Manila for 110,000 on its own Qatar chart. Everything else, like Cathay or JAL with a connection, is over 7,000 miles and costs 154,500.

Two award systems in one currency. Partners are priced by the total distance flown, and Philippine Airlines has its own Qatar chart. Qatar's own flights via Doha use unpublished route pricing, so the prices shown are what has been seen, not a chart. Flexi awards on Qatar cost 2× Standard when Standard seats are gone.

How to find seats

  1. 1 Search Qatar Airways from LAX, SFO or SEA to Singapore or Bangkok via Doha and pick Standard, not Flexi. Standard seats come out around 361 days, in random batches, and again 1–14 days before departure.
  2. 2 For Manila, or if you'd rather skip the detour, search Philippine Airlines nonstop from LAX, SFO or SEA at 110,000.
  3. 3 Cathay or JAL via Hong Kong or Tokyo is 154,500. Treat it as plan C.
  4. 4 Transfer points only once you see the seat.

Questions people ask

Why is Philippine Airlines 110,000 and not 154,500?

Qatar prices Philippine Airlines on its own chart. Flights of 6,501–8,000 miles are 110,000, and all three West Coast nonstops to Manila (6,661 to 7,305 miles) fall in that band. On the generic partner chart they'd be 154,500.

Is 95,000 the price to all of Southeast Asia?

It's what people have booked to Singapore and Bangkok. Bali has priced at 100,000. Manila, Ho Chi Minh City and Kuala Lumpur don't have a seen price yet.

What's Flexi?

Qatar's own-flight award that opens up more seats when Standard is sold out. It costs exactly twice the Standard price, so about 190,000 here.

Is 95,000 guaranteed?

No. Qatar doesn't publish a chart for its own flights. 95,000 is the Standard price people have booked; peak dates run higher.

I have Chase points. Can I use this?

Yes. Transfer Chase to British Airways Avios 1:1, then combine them into Qatar Avios 1:1 in the Qatar account. Link the two accounts first.
